I was able to use this program to accurately monitor the status of switches, routers, servers, and VIP end users for free.<br /><br /><br />Ping Sweeper is a simple utility I wrote using batch programming. It is nothing exciting or amazing, but it has made my life a lot easier. I simply wanted a tool to inform me when a network host failed, and I did not want to pay thousands of dollars to do it!<br /><br /><br />It has the following features:<br /><br /><ul><li>No need to install. It can even be run from a Flash Drive/ Pen Drive.<br /><br /></li><li>It can easily be used to monitor any number of machines. I use it to monitor over 1000 devices. It even sometimes beats the paid for tools that my company uses for alerting network outages.<br /><br /></li><li>Simple to configure. Just enter the hosts to be monitored in the text file and click the pingsweeper.exe file.<br /><br /></li><li>Completely free. The program costs nothing. This is the full version.</li></ul><br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">INSTRUCTIONS:</span><br /><br /><ol><li>Open the iplist.txt file in notepad.<br /><br /></li><li>Change the hosts in this file to reflect the ones you want to monitor. Ip address or host name would be fine.<br /><br /></li><li>Save and close the text file.<br /><br /></li><li>Double click on the pingsweeper.exe file.<br /><br /></li><li>If an outage occurs, a pop up message with the host name will appear on the screen.<br /><br /></li></ol>Would you rather receive an email?
